There was no stopping the tears that fell down her face. Her whole world just shattered right before her eyes.

“Madam, are you okay?” the girl asked.

Regina didn’t trust herself to answer. She knew she’d breakdown if she tried to open her mouth.

“We should get you home. I’ll make you an apple turnover.” She took the Mayor’s hand and helped her up.

Regina pulled her down, grabbed her face, kissed her gently, and looked into her eyes. “Do you know who I am?”

The girl gave a funny grin. “Of course I do. You’re Madam Mayor Regina. But you do know that I never mix business with pleasure, Madam. I wouldn’t want to get between what you and Sheriff Graham have.”

“Violet…”

“Who’s Violet?”

Regina’s eyes lowered, as did her hands into her lap. “No one…”

// “Do you have what I asked you to get?”

“Yes, your Majesty. Is this it?”

“Oh…yes, it is! Thank you, Captain. I do believe it’s time to pay my good old friend Gingerbread a visit. Don’t you agree, Rosie?”\\

Regina stormed into Gold’s pawnshop, and she wasn’t in a good mood either.

“Rumple! Get your sorry ass out here!”

Gold smirked as he poked his head up from behind the counter. “Your Majesty,” he said calmly in his charming, Scottish accent. “What brings you here?”

“Cut the crap. I want to know why Violet has forgotten who she is.”

“You know very well why, but she should remember now.”

“But she doesn’t. She crossed the town line – why the hell would you even enchant it?”

“Because you asked me to,” he said smartly.

“I did no such thing,” she hissed.

“On the contrary, dearie, you did. It was part of our deal – and I never forget a single detail from my deals.”

“No, but you do have a way of manipulating them. I did not mention anything about enchanting that line.”

“Ah, but you did,” he grinned, wagging a finger. “I believe you said if the  curse should ever be broken, anyone who crosses the line separating Storybrooke and the real world will forget who they were.”

She hated when he was right. “Is there a way for them to remember? An antidote perhaps?”

“I suppose, but I can’t say what it is exactly.”

“What about true love’s kiss?”

“Oh, your Majesty, that’s a given. True love is the most powerful magic of all.”

“Then why didn’t it work?”

“Simple. She has forgotten her past, dearie. She doesn’t remember that she was ever in love with you.”

“How do I make her remember?”

“You can’t.”

“What?!”

“You can’t force her to remember; it has to happen willingly.”

“So, what do I do?”

“You tell me, dearie.”
